so we do actually have some furniture, toys, a tent, train table and really sweet play kitchen down here but i will not be showing it off YET. hint, it will involve navy.

but because some people have asked how it is going, here are some before and afters to hold you over until i finish with furniture, pictures, declan's art gallery, media area, toy set-up. tim thought i was so weird for taking pictures immediately after the carpet guys left, but i said "when will this room EVER not have a single thing in it again?" right?!!! it was the most beautiful empty canvas for about an hour.
down the stairs, white banister to be added after more furniture delivery

orange and white beadboard bathroom w/ navy accents, down the stairs to the left. we did a beautiful pergo called rustic walnut so it looks all old and antique one of my favorite finishes down there. the orange actually turned out to be a little bit alarming but we're going to live with it. it is a kid rec room, tv den so i think we can deal. i have some ideas for art in here that will tone it down. our contractor said orange is very hard to get right, i think he was trying to make me feel better! who knew martha stewart "dried paprika" would look more like "something is on fire in here" orange.

big open playroom

aahhh you can almost smell the new carpet from here...

i'm so excited for declan's little room under the stairs. we have shelves to add for toys/games someday but for now i'm going to keep it empty for his imagination and let it be his fort or reading nook, or whatever he wants. who didn't want a secret little room as a kid?

This looks great! Declan is going to have so much fun down there. Can't wait to see more pictures!
Looks great! Can't wait to see how it looks with stuff in it.
I love the orange bathroom. As Monte's cousin said when she painted her bathroom orange, "At least it's not the dining room!" Our color is Outrageous Orange.
I love what you have done with your basement. Can't wait to see what you will do with furniture, etc. You will especially enjoy that extra area when Declan will play down there by himself or with friends!!
