really he's not fat at all, but he has outgrown our baby tub as you can see! i guess these things just creep up on you. he doesn't seem to mind how contorted he is in his little tub, yet i'm certain we are overdue for the next step.
i just don't know what the next step is? i did get this contraption (picture below) a few wks ago but haven't used it yet because i fear he'll sit so upright in it that i won't be able to wash his hair. plus it will be awkward because he can't really sit up yet. he can take some water and suds in his eyes but i just can't visualize how the lathering/rinsing is going to work in this thing without drowning the poor baby. doesn't the baby model make it look perfect? unfortunatley epinions had 242 very scathing reviews of this product so i will keep looking...

i think i am going to return the as yet unused seat above and get this cute little inflatable tub. it looks simple, streamlined and most importantly comfortable.

i used a seat a lot like that with my boys, and it worked fine. no problems with water or soap in their eyes, but the inflatable does look pretty cool.
They sell inflatable duck tubs at Target. You can also put him at the other end of your current tub for him to sit up and have more room.
I think the first seat looks nice, but if it got bad reviews, you'll always be looking for something better. I found that Isaac was too big for the inflatable, so that wasn't an option for us.
People have recommended using a laundry basket - keeps the kids somewhat upright, and is roomy.
