first DIY project

guest bath "before"


so i have wanted white beadboard/wainscoting in our guest bathroom since i laid eyes on it, ssooo bland. i was inspired to do it myself after finding a kit at lowe's that "seemed" straightforward, plus the wall was long and flat with no cutouts. i thought i'd whip it up before a colts football game one sunday, well........ three weekends later, i finally put the finishing touches on it. VERY happy with how it turned out though. i think it looks fresh and crisp!

home sweet home

we closed on our first home on friday, october 13 and moved in the next day. we love it! we are in westfield, a northern suburb of indianapolis. the home is about a year old, therefore most of the walls are the lovely "builder-white." we'll be doing a lot of painting this year. i am posting a few before move-in and after move-in pictures.

maui honeymoon!

last night of the honeymoon. we dined outside at trendy i'o restaurant in lahaina. i was so shocked to see my most favorite wine "Naia" sauvignon blanc from Spain, on the menu at this tiny restaurant in the middle of the pacific. i can usually only find it at chalet wine shop in chicago! naturally i had to order a glass (or two)!


our car for the week was a silver mustang convertible, perfect for cruising around the island! i had to buy this cowboy hat though b/c my hair would end up looking like an 80s rock band after any short drive.


this was our romantic dinner at Ferraro's, our table was private and overlooked the ocean, million dollar sunset!





we had such an amazing and relaxing 10-day honeymoon in maui at the four seasons wailea resort, total luxury! we were so spoiled and hope to have the opportunity to make it back there someday, for the next few years we'll just have the photos & memories! here are just a few...

getting started

being inspired by other friends' blogs as a wonderful to stay in touch, i have decided to start a site for us! we recently moved to indianapolis from chicago and i think this is going to be a fun way to keep friends and family "posted" on things down here in the heartland!

life has quieted down significantly since our wedding on june 10, but my move to indy to join tim after our honeymoon, our relatively new jobs down here and our first home(!) have made this a milestone year for us.

i would be leaving a huge void if i just started from today, so i'll post some past pics from our june wedding, honeymoon, new home, and holidays in the posts to follow.
