someone has learned how to climb onto the furniture. this presents a whole new set of challenges! not to mention the little grubby feet, runny nose and dripping sippy cup dangling all over our furniture.
and boy was he PROUD!!! this was the first time he figured it out, i had my camera nearby. so the proud grin is very genuine!
too bad he doesn't know how to get down on his own. i have tried and tried, but so far stands up and throw himself off the edge of the chair into my waiting arms. i keep wondering what is going to happen when i'm not right there with open arms... he's going to have to learn somehow. i really hope it won't involve stitches.

declan scraped up his knees pretty bad on friday running down the driveway of a friend's house. he was a little upset leading up to his nap due to being overheated from playing outside, his newly skinned knees and general tiredness. SO as he clung ever so tightly to the band-aid box and screamed so pathetically when i tried to take it away for his nap, i figured, how bad could it be if i just let him take it in his crib with him? it didn't seem like he could open the box, plus he was so tired i assumed he would fall asleep within minutes.
wrong. this is the carnage i saw when he woke up. they were also all over the floor and most of them were soggy and chewed on. he was pretty busy in there. yikes, i learned my lesson all right. funny how they teach you lessons along the way!
