portrait innovations, take II

our 6 month photo session at portrait innovations was much more successful than the 3 month. see "february" posts for our negative, yet hilarious experience back then.

things went very smoothly this time and i attribute it to a few things: 1) tim was with this time so the two of us could elicit smiles out of him by our shameless entertaining 2) he's older and much more emotive 3) i communicated a clear agenda of black or white only backgrounds, as neutral as possible and no props outside of a small chair and cute vintage block. our photographer was very nice, enthusiastic and helpful... and she pretty much went with our plan for neutral, prop-free backgrounds. in the end, we threw in a blue football to see what he would do, but they didn't turn out thereby reaffirming my current view that the smaller the child the less props work.

these are not the final selections but they are cute and crack me up because he is just SO happy!

here are the favorites, most of which we got prints of. i think he should go up on the wall of the studio, but i might be biased.
