before tim left for his long trip, we enjoyed a wonderful family lunch at my absolute hands-down favorite breakfast/lunch spot here called "taste." it truly rivals any restaurant you'd find in a big city and i love, love, love it. there are many fabulous restaurants here, but this one is extra special. if it were in chicago, it would be the new orange, or bongo room, or toast (to name my faves). actually i've been gone for awhile now so i don't even know if bongo room is still the weekend-breakfast-destination-to-cure-hangover it once was. i could be so 2005 and not even know it. that is for you trix.
anyway, whether i get a salad or sandwich, i must always order the pommes frites (fries) which come out in a tin bucket with basil mayo and i generally don't say no to dessert at this place either whether it be a giant cupcake with buttercream frosting, warm carmel bread pudding, blueberry cobbler, or a big frosted sugar cookie with sprinkles. declan hung out in his new ride while we dined al fresco on the patio. can't wait for more warm days like this!
